About Me

IMG_0339Hi!! My names Rachel and I recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas State University earning my Bachelors degree in Nutrition& Foods with a concentration in Dietetics. I’m an aspiring Registered Dietitian and recently got matched into my top choice dietetic internship/Masters program at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. I will start the program in August, then 16 months later I will have my Masters of Science in Nutrition and be sitting for the RD Exam!

Growing up I ate very unhealthy. My “diet” was mostly frozen food and sodas. One day realized how unhealthy and overweight I had let myself get. I needed to change what I was putting in my body and starting moving it more to lose weight and get healthy. I had always been the fat kid and was tired of it. So i changed.. I stopped drinking sodas and switched the food I ate to non-frozen healthier foods. I wasn’t into lifting weights yet but I occasionally went on runs around the neighborhood and played lacrosse for two years. It didn’t take much time for me to lose weight after just changing my diet.

My weight loss and transitioning to a healthy lifestyle has been a roller coaster with many ups and downs. I have gotten skinny, then gained back weight. I have struggled with binging and unhealthy eating. I have been consistent with weight lifting and tracking macros and seen great results.

I’m making this blog for me, to give me an outlet for posting what’s on my mind and to hopefully help others on the same path as me. I’m all about striving for balance.
